Sadaqa Day is Back
- By Aisha Ali
On Sunday 24th of March, a group of our volunteers will be visiting the wards in Our Lady’s Children's Hospital in Crumlin. We will be handing out gifts, 250 goody bags and putting on a clown show in the hopes of brightening the day for the patients even for a little while.
Last year Muslim Sisters of Eiré launched Sadaqa Day in Ireland. Sadaqa Day is marked by Muslim communities across Britain as a day of social action where everyone can get involved.
The inspiration for Sadaqa Day comes from the many Islamic teachings on the blessings and virtues of charitable giving, extending far beyond the giving of money (important as that also is).
