Muslim Sisters of Éire Launches Annual Bag4Life Campaign to Support Homeless This Christmas Eve
Muslim Sisters of Éire (MSOE) is excited to announce the launch of our 8th Annual Bag4Life campaign, which will kick off on December 24th, 2024. This year, the campaign will have a unique focus: bringing together both non-Muslim and Muslim youth to collaborate in distributing life-saving bags to those in need.
The Bag4Life campaign was founded to make a significant difference for homeless individuals, providing essential items that could mean the difference between life and death on the streets. Each bag contains critical survival items, including hats, gloves, scarves, hygiene products, a rucksack, a sleeping bag, a tent, and a survival sheet.
For the past 8 weeks, we have been fundraising, buying, and preparing these bags with the help of youth from both the Muslim and non-Muslim communities. We hope to have 200+ bags ready for distribution on Christmas Eve.
Our goal is to distribute these bags on Christmas Eve, as we have learned through our soup run over the past eight years that rough sleepers often come out on Christmas Eve to beg on the streets of Dublin. This provides us with the opportunity to reach the most vulnerable individuals who may find themselves without the basic necessities to survive a night on the streets.
We are proud to unite youth from both Muslim and non-Muslim communities, fostering solidarity and empathy for those facing homelessness. The Bag4Life campaign aims to ensure that no one is left without the essentials needed for survival, particularly during the harsh winter months.
