We recently celebrated our annual Eid Fest — a vibrant and joyful event that brought together culture, connection, and community spirit.
This marked the second year of our Eid Fest and nearly 12 months since the formation of the Muslim Sisters of Éire – Limerick branch. It was both heartwarming and humbling to see the incredible support we received from the wider community in such a short space of time.
The festival featured 14 lively stalls offering cultural displays, traditional cuisine, face painting, henna, and even a local ice cream van. The day was filled with joy, unity, and meaningful interaction. More than just a celebration, it became a space for connection, communication, and community engagement.
We were especially honoured to welcome families from local Direct Provision centres, many of whom shared how welcomed and included they felt throughout the event. Creating safe, inclusive spaces is at the heart of our mission — and we were proud to build a day where everyone felt seen and valued.
We extended our sincere thanks to Councillor Azad Talukder, who delivered a heartfelt message on diversity and culture on behalf of the Lord Mayor of Limerick. We were also privileged to welcome our founder, Lorraine O’Connor, from Dublin, who spoke powerfully about the importance of collective effort, mutual support, and building understanding within our communities.
The success of the day would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of our new youth team, our dedicated sisters, and the many families who worked behind the scenes. Their time, energy, and commitment made the event not only possible but truly memorable and professionally delivered.
At Muslim Sisters of Éire – Limerick, we continued to build more than just events — we built a community grounded in compassion, inclusion, and unity.
Eid Mubarak from all of us, and thank you to everyone who made this celebration so special.
