From August 2nd to 4th, a group of 21 girls aged 12 to 17, accompanied by four dedicated youth leaders, embarked on a memorable two-night adventure at Carlingford Adventure Centre. The group set off on time with a relaxing stop at Applegreen before continuing their journey.
Upon arrival, the girls settled into their rooms, enjoyed a scenic walk, and ended the evening with a cozy campfire and s’mores. The second day included laser tag, water sports, and a nightline challenge. Although some girls felt nervous about kayaking, they faced their fears and found it to be a favourite experience. The final day featured ziplining before the group headed home.
Prayers were observed throughout, and evenings ended with Islamic reminders and discussions. Girls had the chance to anonymously submit questions, which were answered thoughtfully on the last day—creating a safe space for exploring faith. Each girl received seeds to plant as a symbolic reminder of spiritual growth.
We were blessed to have support from Carlingford leaders Carla and Jocelyn (Joss), who led activities enthusiastically. The group returned on schedule, and feedback from girls and families was overwhelmingly positive.
