We are thrilled to share a recap of our recent summer project week, which was an incredible success thanks to your wonderful children. Over the course of the week, we had the pleasure of hosting 30 enthusiastic kids aged 7-15 years old, and each day was filled with fun, learning, and new friendships.
Day One: Jumpzone
We kicked off the week with a trip to Jumpzone, where the kids had an absolute blast on trampolines, playing dodgeball, and sliding down the slides. It was their first day, and they were introduced to the youth leaders, familiarise themselves with each other, and we went over a few house rules for the week. It was the perfect start to our adventure-filled week.
Day Two: Zip It Adventure Centre
On the second day, we visited the Zip It Adventure Centre. The kids faced the challenge of high ropes and zip lines, which helped them build confidence, trust in themselves, and develop their motor skills. Although many were apprehensive at first, with the encouragement and guidance of our youth leaders, they soon embraced the adventure and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Day Three: Sports Day at ICCI Hall
The third day was our sports day at ICCI Hall, featuring activities such as rounders, sack races, penalty shootouts, a football match, tug of war, and much more. By this stage, the kids had made friends and really come out of their shells, making the day filled with laughter, teamwork, and healthy competition.
Day Four: Horse Riding at Brennanstown Stables
On the fourth day, we went horse riding at Brennanstown Stables. Initially, many kids were quite apprehensive about being on the horses. However, once they were coached and familiarized themselves with their horses, they couldn’t get enough of it. Many children mentioned that this was their favourite activity of the week.
Final Day: Family Picnic
We concluded the week with a family picnic on Saturday, July 14th. The day was relaxed and fun, with goodie bags, face painting, snacks, sweets, a clown, football, and more. It was a fantastic way to wrap up our summer project, allowing everyone to unwind and enjoy the beautiful weather together. Overall, it was an amazing, fun-filled week where the kids had an absolute blast. They made new friends, learned new skills, and created lasting memories. We can’t wait to do this again next year, and it left them excitedly asking when the next adventure would be.
